Role Overview:

A successful Fiber Splicing Supervisor will supervise all operations of Fiber Optics activity to ensure that all construction operations are completed by customer and industry specifications. Such actions are circuit verification, splicing, turn up, and documentation. Responsibilities include but not limited computer, OTDR, and fusion splicers.


  • Supervise all designated fiber operations to ensure that all construction operations are completed by customer and industry specifications. This includes ensuring that all employees working on the project are working safely and productively.
  • Provide OJT training for employees working under your direction on construction practices and methods to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Assign daily production to in-house and subcontract laborers and crews.
  • Requisition, assign, and track materials needed for the day-to-day operations.
  • Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices.
  • Resolve complaints with property owners in areas where our personnel is working.
  • Review daily production reports, material usage sheets, keep track of work hours, complete and maintain accurate "as-built maps" for areas built.
  • Reconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure precise material, usage counts.
  • Verify submitted Daily Production Reports for accuracy and approve recorded production for billing purposes.
  • Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work shifts as assigned, including daily overtime when necessary.
  • Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of experience in the CATV construction field and prior supervisory experience in construction or related field.
  • Experience in all aspects of Fiber Splicing, Aerial & Underground CATV construction.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry
  • 5+ years’ experience in Fiber Optic Network
  • Strong knowledge of fiber designs
  • Ability to interact with peers and senior staff productively and professionally.
  • Strong Management and Supervisory Skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Ability to positively interact with customers field and management personnel.
  • Ability to walk, sit, squat, reach above their head
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to handle and climb a 28 ft. fiberglass ladder
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • Microsoft office and G-Suite knowledge
  • Must be able to work from 6:30 - 5:00pm
  • Possess a valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class "B" - light commercial)

Starting salary for this position is $70,000, based on experience.
