Qualifications

Role Overview:

The Small Cell Technician will be able to perform duties associated with installation and maintenance for small cell sites. Travel to other markets would be required as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician (TDLR) in Texas, preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of electrical repair and maintenance experience
  • Telecommunications constructions experience a plus 
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of electrical applications for high and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication utilizing MSOffice or GSuite applications
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and comply with company motor vehicle policy

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of required antenna and lines materials
  • Use tools and rigging hardware to perform normal tasks associated with installation of antenna and lines
  • Installation of small cell antenna and lines 
  • Fitting of connectors, attachment of coax to support system sealing and joints
  • Mounting of antenna support systems
  • Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, setting of ice bridge post, placement of concrete, site cleanup
  • Operation of winch or cat head
  • Assisting crew leader with task required to meet the scope of work
  • Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools and supplies
  • Cleans tools, equipment, material and work areas using water hose, wire brush, scrapers, brooms, rags and chemicals
  • Read and understand owner manuals
  • Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations and policies
  • Communicate effectively with customers and employees
  • Travel to all site locations dispatching from Selma yard.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
  • Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Walking - 4 to 6 hours daily
  • Climbing - 0 to 2 hours daily
  • Bending/Twisting - 0 to 2 hours daily
  • Pushing/Pulling - 0 to 2 hours daily
  • Repetitive Motion (grasping, manipulation) - 0 to 2 hours daily
  • Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) - rarely
  • Lift & Carry (weights of 50 to 60 lbs.) – occasionally.

Starting pay begins at $17.50 per hour, depending on experience.
